At its May 6, 2025 meeting, the Beardstown City Council received routine departmental reports from the water, police and fire departments and recognized long-serving City Clerk Brian "Petie" Ruch.
The Water Superintendent's written report (April 2025) lists 14,123,061 gallons pumped in April and a year-to-date total (May 1–April 30) of 181,599,596 gallons. The Police Chief's report for April records 689 calls answered for the month and 7,804 year-to-date; the packet also lists arrest, traffic stop and citation statistics. The Fire Chief's March 2025 report records 78 city fires for the period and 368 year-to-date, with related rural and mutual-aid figures included in the written materials.
Code enforcement and zoning officer reports for April 2025 were filed and attached to the minutes; the council noted disbursements for the period ending May 6, 2025. Earlier in the session the council approved the April 22 minutes and the consent agenda by omnibus vote.
Mayor Tim Harris presented a plaque to retiring City Clerk Brian Ruch recognizing his more than 36 years of service to the city; the minutes record the presentation without extended remarks. The meeting adjourned sine die at 6:26 p.m.
