The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Trustees on July 15 conducted first readings of a set of policy updates and reviews, including Policy 7:70 (Attendance and Truancy) as part of Illinois State Board of Education compliance.
Under the consolidated Policy 2:240 review, trustees were presented with a lengthy list of policies for review and monitoring, including governance, meeting minutes, pandemic preparedness, board-superintendent relationship items and student rights and responsibilities. The board also reviewed rewritten and updated policy exhibits and administrative guidelines.
Superintendent Dr. Guseman reported she consulted the district’s attorney regarding Policy 2:80 (Board Member Oath and Conduct) and was advised to select the default option. The items were presented as first readings; no final actions or votes on policy adoptions were recorded at the meeting.
