Joliet Township High School District 204 hears suicide-prevention and exclusionary-discipline reports; administrators offer recommendations

At its July 15 meeting, the Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Trustees heard two informational presentations on student well-being and discipline.
Mr. John Randich Jr., Pupil Personnel Services coordinator for Joliet Central, and Mrs. Julie Adelmann, director of support services and former PPS coordinator for Joliet West, presented district data and described ongoing suicide and depression awareness and prevention work. The presentation summarized current findings and the district’s prevention efforts; no budgetary or policy action was proposed during the meeting.
Separately, administrators including Mr. Steve Locke (Assistant Principal, Joliet Central), Mr. Brett Marcum (Assistant Principal, Joliet West) and Ms. Shelley Clark (Director of Equity and Strategic Partnerships) presented the district’s annual report on exclusionary discipline and student support services. The administrative team shared data, recommendations and areas for improvement intended to inform future programming and staff work.
Both presentations were delivered as informational items and did not require board votes. Trustees did not record formal directives or approvals tied to these presentations during the meeting.
