The Columbia County Commissioners on Jan. 15 approved two allocations from Hotel Tax funds: $1,000 for the America 250 kickoff event scheduled for Jan. 21 and $3,500 to the Farm Bureau Board to support an Immersion Lab and the Sow and Piglet display at the Bloomsburg Fair.
The motion to award $1,000 for the America 250 kickoff was recorded as moved by Commissioner Brewer and seconded by Commissioner Kovach. The Farm Bureau request for $3,500 was moved by Commissioner Kovach and seconded by Commissioner Karschner. Both motions were recorded in the minutes as approved by the board.
No additional terms, reporting conditions or budget breakdowns for the uses of the awarded funds are noted in the meeting minutes. The awards were presented as part of routine new-business approvals and were included in the same agenda batch as several appointments and personnel actions.
