Dr. Phillip Pakowski told the board the rationale is to increase daily practice in reading, writing and math, provide more frequent feedback and allow reteaching and remediation sooner than the current A/B block schedule permits. He said teacher feedback indicated the A/B schedule can create gaps due to absences and days off. He referenced Class of 2025 Growth Report (SAT), Fall PreACT and Spring ACT growth data in support of the discussion. A sample student schedule and logistical considerations were provided in the packet.
Board members asked no questions and raised no concerns during the meeting; the matter remains under review and no formal vote was taken at this session.
