Commissioners ratified hazardous materials payments, including check #1484 to Wex Bank for $76.25. The board also approved a purchase‑of‑service contract between the county Public Defender’s office and Brittany Shetter, Esquire, to provide conflict counsel beginning April 1, 2026; the contract will continue until paid services reach $13,000 or upon 30 days’ written notice of termination. Commissioner Todd Graybill moved the conflict‑counsel approval; Commissioner Mark Partner seconded and the motion carried.
The board ratified three Community Development Block Grant (CDBG‑IDIS) payments submitted by the Planning and Community Development Department to C&R Directional Boring, LLC: $189,512.00 (check #1367), $101,606.60 (check #1368) and $35,467.65 (check #1369), a combined total of $326,586.25. Commissioner Mark Partner moved the ratification; Commissioner Todd Graybill seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Officials reviewed February departmental reports, including the Juniata Children and Youth Office monthly statistics, and approved multiple tax exonerations for townships and boroughs as presented. The board ratified two payment checklists: #77739–#77802 in the amount of $391,223.15 and #77803–#77966 in the amount of $136,420.56; both motions carried unanimously.
