At its June 10 meeting the Elko City Council approved a package of routine financial and procurement items, including warrants, a public-works contract award and several administrative authorizations.
The council approved regular warrants totaling $778,824.16 and hand-cut checks totaling $207,688.30 by voice vote.
On a recommended award from staff, the council accepted the lowest responsive bid for Public Works Project EL2025-316 (the 2025 microsurfacing project) and awarded the contract to Sierra Nevada Construction for $874,007. Staff reported three bids were received; the low bid was deemed nonresponsive and the lowest responsive bid was $874,007.
Council authorized staff to solicit bids for custodial services at the Elko Regional Airport. Staff said the current custodial contract has reached its three-year limit and the scope will include daily terminal cleaning and service to related buildings; the contract will return to council for award.
The council also moved and approved designating Dale Johnson, assistant city manager, as the responsible official under Air Permit 45933616.01 and as the designated representative for the EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program relating to the solid-waste facility.
All these actions passed by voice vote during the meeting. Contract amounts and the schedule for procurement will be handled by city staff and brought back to council as required.
