The San Ramon Valley Unified School District Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt an amended closed-session agenda and adjourn into closed session, removing item 4.1 — a student records challenge — for rescheduling.
Board member Shelly Clark called the meeting to order and announced the session was being video recorded and live-streamed on the district’s YouTube channel. Clark stated that item 4.1, consideration of a student records challenge, was being removed from the closed-session agenda and will be rescheduled.
Clark read the remaining closed-session items the board planned to discuss: consideration of a rejected claim (claim number 650581); public employee appointments for coordinator positions in English language arts/ELD, math, and educational services; public employee discipline/dismissal concerning employee number 10922; conference with labor negotiators under Government Code section 54957.6 with agency representative Melanie Jones and employee organizations SRVEA, CSEA, and SEIU; and the superintendent’s performance evaluation under Government Code section 54957(a).
When asked for public comment, a board member replied, “There is not,” indicating no members of the public spoke before the board moved to action.
"I move that we accept the closed session agenda as amended," a board member said. The motion was made by Board member Van Zee and seconded by Board member Laura Bratt. Roll-call votes were recorded as: Bratt — Aye; Hurd — Aye; Van Zee — Aye; Clark — Aye. The motion passed 4-0.
Following the vote, the board adjourned to closed session to consider the listed personnel, litigation/claim, labor and evaluation matters. The board did not discuss the substance of those matters in the open meeting; the public record notes only the items listed and the vote to move into closed session. The removed student records item (4.1) was announced as "rescheduled," but no new date or timing was specified on the record.
The board’s action to adopt the amended closed-session agenda concludes the public portion of the meeting; any outcomes from the closed session will be disclosed as required by law after the session ends or through subsequent meeting minutes if and when permitted.
