Lincoln County to record and publish commission meetings online

Lincoln County commissioners voted unanimously Nov. 3 to create a framework to record, store and make Commission meetings available to the public online.
IT Director Tracy Lee said the county has the technical ability to download meeting recordings immediately after adjournment, store them on county hardware and keep the GoTo transcription to provide searchable text: "He can download the meeting as soon as it’s completed and store it on county hardware," Lee said. The Board directed that recordings be retained according to the county’s records retention schedule.
Commissioners said publishing recordings and transcripts would improve transparency and public access to county governance. Commissioner Lisa Poulsen moved to approve the framework; Commissioner Mike Reese seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: IT will implement the storage workflow, make recordings available on the county website, and retain transcripts per records policy.
