The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved several routine but administratively consequential items at its Sept. 2, 2025 meeting in Pioche.
The board unanimously approved the consent agenda (minutes and business licenses) and vouchers after Recorder/Auditor Amy Elmer reviewed fund balances and flagged a potential budget shortfall tied to recent raises. Commissioners approved an order directing the County Treasurer to sell property held in trust; the auction is tentatively scheduled for April 2026.
The board accepted the resignation of Workforce Director Launa Chouquer effective Jan. 29, 2026, and approved the hiring of Brooke Parker as the new Workforce Director (the minutes record an effective date of Sept. 16, 2026). The Board accepted the resignation of Panaca Town Board member Tia Lee and authorized the Panaca Town Board to advertise for letters of interest to fill that vacancy.
The Board approved a transfer of APN 008-031-24 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to expand the Alamo cemetery, and approved a pay increase for the part-time deputy assessor/DMV clerk from $17.90 to $19.43 per hour effective Sept. 1, 2025.
The Board also voted to create official county social-media profiles for Instagram and Facebook under the handle lincolncountynvgov and directed staff to develop written posting policies and administrator assignments.
All motions recorded in the minutes were noted as passing by unanimous vote.
