The Lyon County Sheriff and North Lyon Fire presented annual reports to the Fernley City Council on Jan. 21 that described increased workload, training investments and steps the agencies say will improve response and data-driven policing.
Sheriff Brad Pope summarized key numbers from 2025, saying Lyon County dedicated 16,242 hours to training and that the sheriff's office boosted its training budget from roughly $66,000 to about $90,000.
