General Fund month-end balance was reported at $3,631,840.16, and several other fund balances were summarized.
Chair Janine Woodworth pressed for detail on a roughly $44,000 payment for juvenile-probation services, saying there was no contract and asking that the voucher include case numbers rather than juveniles’ initials. Janine also questioned mileage and overtime charges for officers using county vehicles. Judge Frehner, who attended virtually, said the payment is within the approved budget and that the check will include the travel reimbursement costs going forward.
Commissioner Mike Reese moved to omit payment of the White Pine juvenile-probation fees and approve the remaining vouchers; Commissioner Diane Path seconded the motion, which passed with all board members voting in favor.
The board did not adopt any new contract for juvenile-probation services; Chair Woodworth and Recorder Elmer requested additional invoice detail before releasing the withheld payment.
Next steps: staff will provide the requested itemized breakdown (including case numbers or equivalent identifying details where permissible) and clarify whether mileage, fuel and overtime are being charged consistently with county policy.
