The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors on April 6 awarded contracts for the county's Limestone Resurfacing Project M-2026 after opening sealed bids at 10:00 a.m.
The board awarded Division 1 to Basic Materials (BMC) at $16.990 per ton, amounting to $499,845.80 for the listed tonnage. Bruening Rock Products (BRP) won Divisions 2, 3 and 4 at the per-ton prices and amounts shown in the sealed bids. The board authorized the chair to sign the contracts following a motion by Supervisor Travis Suckow, seconded by Supervisor Breitbach; the motions passed on a roll-call vote with all supervisors voting aye.
Roman Lensing, the county engineer, provided department updates during the bid opening and contract-award procedure. The board recessed at 9:42 a.m. and resumed at 10:00 a.m. to conduct the bid opening; the meeting adjourned at 10:14 a.m.
The bids opened showed two vendors submitting per-ton pricing across four divisions. For transparency, the bid materials and award records are filed with the county engineer's office and the county auditor.
Next steps are execution of contract documents and scheduling of work under the resurfacing project; the board authorized the chair to sign to finalize contracts.
