Saint Peter council ratifies multiple labor contracts with wage increases

Todd summarized each settlement before the votes: the parks union (AFL‑CIO Local 70) ratified a two‑year agreement with 3% wage increases in each year; the electric linemen agreement was for one year and included a 3% wage increase plus $1 per hour across the board and an increase in on‑call pay from $3.25 to $3.50 per week; the utilities unit (water, wastewater, stormwater) ratified a one‑year agreement with a 3% increase and small licensing stipends (15¢/hour for boiler-license holders and 10¢/hour for crossover licensing). Todd said the unions had voted to approve their respective agreements and staff recommended council approval. Council approved each contract by roll call.
The contracts were approved without recorded opposition. Staff indicated one bargaining unit remained to be resolved and hoped to return it to the council at the next meeting.
