Council OKs $600,000 Clean California grant for city revitalization project

Angelita, a city staff presenter, told the council that the city applied for and received a Clean California grant worth $600,000 to support a National City revitalization program with a total projected cost of $775,000.
The funding, Angelita said, will be matched through in-kind donations and staff time from multiple city departments including public works, neighborhood services and the fire department, and the work will include outreach and cleanup activities in each council district.
Council members thanked staff for pursuing the grant. Council member Yamani moved to approve the consent item; Mayor Morrison seconded and the motion passed. The council noted the item will return in future reports before implementation.
