Council accepts low bid for L.C. Stevens canoe and kayak launch; project funded with grants

Staff said bids were generally favorable; the lowest responsive bid that staff recommended accepting was $386,637. Staff noted they removed the optional tree package from the award to keep the base bid competitive and said tournament and park planning would use remaining grant funds and other allocations. “We will be using some of those funds on Gooding Park,” staff said, and confirmed total available project funding is roughly $950,000, which includes a $100,000 National Park Service grant.
Council moved and seconded the award and approved it by voice vote, recorded in the meeting as 5–0.
What’s next: Staff will finalize the contract with the low bidder, coordinate any remaining scope adjustments (trees and site amenities) and proceed toward construction.
