Supporters said the revised calendar will allow the district to better align schedules across buildings and to redistribute professional development without frequent early releases. Board members asked whether neighboring districts had coordinated calendars; the administrator said districts vary and that there is no countywide uniformity.
The board discussed moving from a two‑year to a one‑year calendar to allow parent and staff feedback before committing to a longer term change. After discussion the chair called a voice vote and multiple members responded in the affirmative; the motion passed.
The board announced the new calendar will be treated as a one‑year pilot and revisited at the staff and community level after implementation. The district will publish final calendar details and any adjustments after the administrative office completes scheduling and notifications.
