District 59 board approves consultant search, accepts $1,000 donation and votes to enter closed session

The consent agenda (items 5.01–5.05) was presented, a motion was made and seconded, and the board approved the package by roll call. The presiding officer announced the motion passed; two members were recorded absent at the vote.
Action item 6.01 authorized the board to engage BWP & Associates to lead a search for the CSBO. A motion to approve the engagement was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
Action item 6.02 was a resolution accepting a $1,000 donation from Meyer to Juliette Lowe Elementary to fund family prizes at the school’s PTO Lotería/Bingo night; the resolution specifies that the superintendent will send a written expression of appreciation to Meyer and that the donation will be noted in the meeting minutes. The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call.
Before the action on item 6.01, two board members offered kudos to Mohsen (district business services): one said, “I'm on team Mohsen here. He's been wonderful,” acknowledging his work for the district. The board later moved, seconded and voted to go into closed session to discuss items a through g and recessed the public meeting.
