Cica said paraprofessionals perform essential daily work — supporting classroom instruction, managing individualized learning plans and caring for students — and argued that the delay leaves members without certainty and protections. She said the union expects a public statement to membership confirming the agreement terms and the implementation date once the contract is signed.
Board members did not provide a public response to the request during the public‑comment period recorded in the transcript.
