The Greenwich Board of Education voted unanimously on March 19 to set the 2025–26 graduation date and the end‑of‑year schedule.
The board approved a motion to set graduation for the 2025–26 school year on June 18. "In the motion, it actually says to set the graduation date for 25/26 school year as June 18," Superintendent Dr. Jones explained as she introduced the motion. Chair Mercante Anthony called the question and the motion passed 8–0.
In a separate motion, the board set the final school days for the year: June 19 for grades 6 and 9, June 22 for all students, and June 25 as the last day for teachers. Trustees noted the calendar choices reflect state requirements for 180 student days and local scheduling priorities; the board also explained June 19 will be treated as a school day while recognizing Juneteenth, consistent with prior calendars.
Outcome: Both motions passed unanimously (8–0). The board noted these calendar decisions are operational and aimed at giving families time to plan for travel and commencement logistics.
