The district’s People Services representative briefed the board on human-resources operations, saying the department has managed about 115 investigations to date and is modernizing its leave-management process.
On leave administration, the presenter said the district’s FMLA process is currently paper-based and that a planned move to an electronic eFMLA system will streamline communications between employees, medical providers and the district. The presenter reported 70 total FMLA requests to date: 40 closed and 26 active (8 consecutive, 8 intermittent, 2 leave-of-absence, and 2 upcoming), and said eFMLA will help manage these workflows.
Workers’ compensation numbers were summarized: six staff members with work restrictions and nine currently out on workers’ comp; eight are receiving temporary total disability benefits. A recent teacher licensure audit showed about 33 staff licenses are set to expire on June 30, 2026, the presenter said, and the audit will help the district plan staffing for the next school year.
People Services also announced a community job fair—New Beginnings—on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon, inviting employers to host tables and community members seeking employment to attend. The presenter said the department will begin a district staffing review and will partner with building leadership on placements for next year.
