The Tustin Public Art Commission voted to participate in the city’s Easter celebration and egg hunt with a staffed booth that will offer coloring activities for children and information about public-art projects.
Director Clanton said the commission has treated the Easter event as a special outreach opportunity for several years and typically offers a coloring sheet tied to a public-art project. "The last few years have been...we've done a coloring sheet related to public art projects, for little kids," Clanton said, describing the booth’s materials and proximity to the event information table.
Commissioners discussed staffing levels, volunteer support, and whether to print maps or use a display board. Several commissioners expressed support for a light, kid-friendly presence with minimal printed takeaways and staff or volunteers available to answer questions.
A commissioner moved that the Public Art Commission attend the Easter egg hunt with a booth; another commissioner seconded the motion and it carried by voice vote. Staff said they will confirm attendance and finalize details at the next commission meeting and will include public-art materials (coloring sheets, a map of projects) at the booth.
