Chair Mason and Commissioner Kozak were confirmed in the commission's leadership at the Tustin Planning Commission's March 24 meeting.
The commission opened nominations for chair and chair pro tem. A motion to nominate Chair Pro Tem Mason for chair was made and seconded; the roll-call vote was recorded as 4-0-1 and the motion passed. The commission then opened nominations for chair pro tem, nominated Commissioner Kozak and approved that nomination by the same 4-0-1 tally.
Planning staff conducted roll-call votes during both motions, and staff noted Commissioner Higuchi as an excused absence. No public comments were offered on the reorganization.
The leadership changes were the first action of a meeting that also included staff presentations on the city's certified local government annual report and the Community Development Department's 2025 year-in-review. Chair Mason presided over the remainder of the meeting after the reorganization.
