Summary
Cambridge Park staff described classroom counts, family events and plans to expand preschool capacity; administration said the district will place preschool classrooms at multiple sites for 2026-27.
Cambridge Park principal presented a school showcase to the board, describing classroom composition, family engagement events and next-year plans that support an expanded early-learning program.
The presenter said the building serves roughly 250 students with about 75 staff and has 19 classes this year — three preschool disabled classes and 16 general-education classes. The principal described family engagement programs such as a Play & Learn family event, a "Pizza Real Week" special and a Math Madness workshop led by the preschool instructional coach to involve parents in early learning.
Administrators said the district is planning preschool classrooms at Ravine Drive, Strathmore, Cliffwood, Lightbridge Academy and Cambridge Park and is collaborating with community providers to serve an estimated preschool universe of 535 students. The superintendent said the district hopes partnerships and outreach will help meet that projected need in 2026-27.
Board members thanked the principal and staff for the presentation and for focusing on family engagement and early learning.
