At its Aug. 5 meeting the Montgomery County Commission unanimously approved minutes and routine financial items, extended a facilities contract with BFC Solutions, approved the statutorily required 2025-26 Community Corrections Plan (noting expected state funding in excess of $657,000), and cleared multiple travel and appropriation items.
The Montgomery County Commission on Aug. 5 handled routine business and several administrative approvals during a meeting at the Montgomery County Courthouse Annex III.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the July 22, 2025 regular meeting and to accept accounts payable and payroll checks as presented. The commission approved an Auburn Game Day professional services contract for the Sheriff's Office and approved multiple travel and training requests for county staff and law-enforcement personnel.
The commission approved the 2025-26 Annual Community Corrections Plan, which the meeting packet says must be submitted to the Alabama Department of Corrections by Sept. 26, 2025. Monica Harris, assistant director of Community Corrections, told the county the program expects state funding/support in excess of $657,000 for the upcoming fiscal year; approval by the county and the Alabama Department of Corrections is statutorily required for continued state reimbursement.
The board also approved Amendment No. 2 to Contract No.51901-23B-021 with Bonded Filter Co., LLC d/b/a BFC Solutions to extend filter service through Sept. 18, 2026 and to increase the annual cost from $39,054.11 to $41,004.08. Commissioners approved Budget Change Request Number 5 to provide appropriations related to the Alabama National Fair (packet shows a line totaling $40,000) and passed a slate of smaller appropriations to community organizations and designated revenue allocations shown in the packet.
A waived-rules item moved the commission's Aug. 19 meeting to Aug. 18, 2025. Staff gave a brief report (Deputy Administrator commented on National Night Out). The commission adjourned at 10:23 a.m.
All motions recorded in the meeting minutes were carried unanimously by the commissioners present; Commissioner Harris was absent.
