The Board of Trustees of Joliet Township High School District 204 approved a broad slate of administrative and business items during its June 17, 2025 meeting, including consent-agenda items, several vendor agreements, the district Title I plan for 2025–26, multiple second readings of board policies, and an extensive personnel report.
Dr. Angela Huntington moved to approve the consent agenda with the removal of Hopewell Schools from the check register; Michelle Stiff later moved to approve the remaining consent items. The board recorded roll-call votes and carried the motions. The actions approved in the meeting record include an agreement between the district and Guardian Angel Community Services; an agreement with READ en Español; an agreement with Flourish‑ED 22; approval of the Title I Plan for 2025–26; a JIU credit request; acceptance of donations; and the 2025–26 winter/spring holiday calendar.
The board also completed second readings and approvals of numerous policies under Policy 2:240, including revisions and rewritten procedures for Title IX grievance process (2:265), student behavior and discipline (7:190), suspension and expulsion procedures (7:200, 7:210), access to electronic networks (6:235), equal employment opportunity (5:10) and other enumerated policies.
The Personnel Report approved a wide range of staffing actions: professional resignations and retirements; leaves of absence (including medical/maternity and intermittent leaves); professional status changes (including Jamila Cage’s reassignment to Pathways); extra-pay coaching and activity assignments; summer and school-year coordinator assignments; classified hires and summer workers; and one termination. Notable entries in the personnel slate included the appointment of Cicely Calhoun as Director of Human Resources, effective July 1, 2025, at an annual salary of $105,000, and multiple certificated and classified hires with effective dates and step or salary information recorded in the minutes.
All vendor agreements and policy second readings in the minutes were approved on roll-call votes (ayes recorded; no nays reported for the listed items in the public minutes). The board also recorded that there was no public comment during the public-comment period.
The meeting record shows the board adjourned by unanimous consent at 8:08 p.m.
