"They went out and set up a station for hot meals," Dr. Zikowski said, and the district thanked the organization for distributing food and coordinating with municipal partners.
Michelle Wilson accepted the recognition on behalf of her team and credited an RWJBarnabas Health impact grant that funded emergency meals. She said quick coordination with district leadership made field operations possible and described an ongoing presence in town: "We have our mobile unit three times a week" and the agency runs a food pantry and hot-meal program.
The board's written resolution thanks Wilson and Elijah's Promise for providing what the resolution described as more than 1,200 meals and shelf-stable food to area residents (meeting speakers referenced "1240" in the discussion and "more than 90 families"). The proclamation will be entered into the official minutes as a public recognition.
The recognition came during the board's conference/regular public meeting at Livingston Park Elementary. No formal action beyond the proclamation was taken; the board later approved routine minutes and a consent agenda during the same session.
