Police chief warns of incoming storm, flags implementation questions about new state e-bike law

On a separate topic, the chief addressed a new state e-bike law signed recently, saying implementation details are limited and enforcement is expected to evolve. "Right now, nobody's gonna be able to ride...unless you have a license and you have it registered and you have it insured," the chief said, while acknowledging that the law is new and that legal challenges and clarifications are likely.
The council did not take further action on enforcement at the meeting; the chief said the department will provide more guidance as the state's implementation becomes clearer.
