The Absecon City Council voted to add Resolution 41—a retroactive final change order (No. 7) related to construction of the new fire department facility—to the consent agenda, the chair said. The chair explained the change order relates to work that should have been approved in 2021 but was not acted on by the previous council; the retroactive action will allow access to certain funds.
The council moved and seconded to add the resolution and other consent items, which included cancellation/refund of property taxes on listed parcels, permits for charitable solicitation (American Legion, VFW and others), and appointment of Tina Lawler as deputy registrar of vital statistics. The consent agenda passed by roll call; Councilmember DeRose stated an abstention on items 34 and 36 due to his leadership role in the organizations listed.
Separately, the council approved the bill list in the amount of $989,317.61 by roll call. The chair thanked staff; no further discussion or amendments to the consent items were recorded.
