Oak Grove School District trustees on Nov. 14 received the annual financial audit and heard from external auditor Ahmad Garibay of Bailey, who said the firm issued a clean opinion on the district's financial statements, including bond measures referenced in the audit.
Garibay described the audit as a three-phase process: an interim review of internal controls, confirmation of balances after management closes the books, and a reporting phase that ensures financial statements comply with applicable accounting standards and federal/state funding requirements. "We issued a clean opinion on all these different items," Garibay told the board.
Associate Superintendent Evans thanked the business services division and staff for their work preparing for the audit. No board questions led to required adjustments reported in the meeting minutes.
The clean opinion indicates the auditors did not identify material misstatements in the reviewed financial reports; trustees accepted the report as part of the meeting's information items.
