The Oscoda County Board of Commissioners on April 8 approved routine and administrative business items, including agenda adoption, consent calendar budget amendments and multiple formal motions that passed unanimously.
The board approved the meeting agenda with one addition and then approved the consent calendar. The consent calendar included budget amendments: increases to Child Care travel ($10,000), Child Care Probate/Deputy Juvenile Register ($5,322), Child Care Contract Counseling ($20,000) funded by a decrease in the Another County Institute line; Housing Cont. Svc. Labor (+$87,583.70) and Housing MI-HOPE Contracted Services (+$8,750) with a $96,333.70 decrease from another housing labor line; an increase to Transcript Fees (+$4,000); a $20 transfer to Trust and Agency Circuit Restitution; and the claims and audit docket totaling $36,004.26.
The board also approved several standalone motions: it extended temporary Veterans Affairs Board appointments for Richard Landry, Al Chaney, Roger Stitt, Frank Beek, Tim Whiting, Dennis Cooper and Bob Whittaker through April 21, 2025. The board authorized a county credit card to be issued and assigned to County Administrator/HR Director Michelle Knepp with a $2,500 limit to pay necessary subscription services. Finally, the board approved the Michigan Department of Corrections agreement renewal, effective May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026, and authorized the chair to sign.
Roll-call votes recorded for the consent calendar and several motions show unanimous support: commissioners voted yes on the consent calendar and on the MDOC agreement, the credit-card authorization, the appointments extension and the adjournment. No motions failed or were tabled during the meeting.
The board adjourned at 10:56 a.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
