Justin (staff) summarized that Well 6, installed in 2005, failed again in September 2025 after a prior repair in 2020. Video inspection showed well screens in good condition but extensive corrosion on column shafts, couplings and other internal components; staff said motor reconditioning (not replacement) is required. Lane Christensen submitted the lowest bid; staff recommended adding a 10% contingency. Funding will come from the authority’s Well Rehabilitation Program: the project would use $204,220 (including contingency) from a program balance of approximately $993,531 after accounting for other recent repairs.
A motion to approve Option 1 (authorize task order and budget transfer) passed unanimously on roll call. Staff will proceed with rehabilitation, mobilization and startup testing and return results to the board as the work progresses.
