Lincoln County signs on as cooperating agency for Silver Rock transmission line environmental review

Lincoln County agreed on Feb. 2 to serve as a cooperating agency with the Bureau of Land Management on an Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Silver Rock transmission line.
Commissioner Mike Reese moved to approve the memorandum of understanding; Commissioner Lisa Poulsen seconded and the motion passed unanimously. In public comment earlier, property owner Tim Vogt said he expected the Silver Rock alignment to follow the TransWest project and emphasized the importance of two-way communication between landowners, developers and county officials.
Commissioners did not place conditions on the MOU at the meeting; staff noted the cooperating-agency role will allow the county to participate in environmental review and provide county input to BLM scoping and analysis.
The action does not itself authorize any right-of-way or construction; it documents Lincoln County's participation in the federal environmental review process.
