Lincoln County commissioners approve routine vouchers, set tax auction and several appointments

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 17 approved routine financial items, set a tax auction and confirmed appointments in a series of unanimous votes.
Recorder/Auditor Amy Elmer presented the county's cash balances and vouchers; after discussion the Board approved the vouchers on a motion by Commissioner Mike Reese, seconded by Commissioner Diane Path. Amy told commissioners the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool denied a claim for courthouse sewer-backup damage related to deterioration but covered interior damages; the claim was about $53,000. Amy said she can work with Deputy District Attorney Wayne Klomp on an appeal and will return to the Board with more information.
The Board set a county tax auction for April 16, 2026 (motion by Reese; seconded by Path) and approved appointments and representation to several bodies. Commissioner Diane Path moved to appoint Commissioner Mike Reese to the State Land Use Planning Advisory Council (SLUPAC); the motion carried unanimously. Path also moved to appoint herself as first and Commissioner Mike Reese as second representatives to the Lincoln County Authority of Tourism (LCAT); that motion passed unanimously.
A motion by Commissioner Diane Path approved an intergovernmental agreement with Pahranagat Valley Fire District and the Town of Alamo to share wages and benefits for a full-time employee who will perform cleaning and maintenance duties for Town, County and District facilities, effective March 1, 2026. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lisa Poulsen and approved unanimously.
The meeting record shows all recorded motions in open session passed with affirmative votes from the five commissioners present: Mike Reese, Janine Woodworth, Lisa Poulsen, Keith Pearson (via web) and Diane Path.
