The applicant, identified in the transcript as Mister Hale, told the board that the project involves subdividing the former parochial school at St. James Church for the Winston School, which will renovate the building for students with special needs. Hale said survey and description work were delayed by Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) issues and that EKA (consultants) needed to revise legal descriptions, but that those revisions are complete. "The deed has been provided to the board ... the deed is now here and available to sign," Hale said, adding that signatures from the church and the archdiocese remain to be obtained.
A staff member advised the board that state statute permits the board to grant an extension at its discretion; staff indicated the applicant requested a 60-day extension running from the original Feb. 25 deadline. The board moved and seconded a motion to grant the 60-day extension and approved it by roll call.
Board members and staff agreed the delay will not block recording once signatures are obtained; staff will circulate the deed and a written resolution for memorialization and include the item on the next meeting agenda to confirm final documentation.
