Summary
County engineer recommended accepting Heartland Asphalt’s $657,170.45 bid for the C3038/T77 paving project; the board approved that bid, adopted the IDOT secondary road FY27 budget as submitted, and adopted a five-year construction program noting two bridges will be 80% funded by a Competitive Highway Bridge Program grant.
County engineer Landon Moore told the supervisors the county received one bid for the C3038/T77 paving project from Heartland Asphalt, with a total bid of $657,170.45; he said the bid looked “very close to the engineer’s estimate” and recommended approval pending the usual review. The board approved the bid by voice vote.
Moore also presented the IDOT Bremer County secondary road budget for FY27 and recommended adoption; supervisors approved the DOT budget as presented. He noted two bridge projects listed in the county’s five-year construction program — bridge replacement projects 9-4 and 10-6 — received Competitive Highway Bridge Program grant awards, which will fund 80% of those two bridges’ costs.
Supervisors said acceptance of the bid and the DOT budget will allow the county to proceed with planned paving and to submit final documents tied to the grant-funded bridge work.
