Crete Monee board hears three sealed bids for landscaping; award expected March 16

At the March 10 meeting the Crete Monee CUSD 201U Board of Education received a procurement update on landscaping and lawn-care services. Jason, the presenter, said the district held a sealed bid opening March 10 at 1:30 p.m. and received three bids for a two-year contract with an option for a third year.
Jason reported the bids ranged from about $16,875 to $18,500 per month for the April through November service window. He said the district's prior landscaping contract expired in November 2025 and that staff will verify references and other due-diligence items before recommending an award.
Board members asked operational questions about mowing frequency and scope for athletic fields; Jason said the contract provides weekly mowing and that the bid specifications included credits for areas still in seed-and-straw maturation.
Next steps: staff will complete reference checks and bring a recommended award to the board for action at the March 16 meeting.
