Board unanimously approves Jennifer Jackson as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services

The Lowell Joint School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously on March 2 to appoint Jennifer Jackson as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, effective April 1, 2026, with a contract running through June 30, 2029.

President Christine Berg reported out of closed session that the board had approved the appointment by unanimous roll call. The employment agreement places Jackson on Step I of the Assistant Superintendent Salary Schedule through June 30, 2027, with a provision to move one step annually thereafter; it specifies a 12‑month work year, standard certificated management benefits, and termination provisions that include 60 days' written notice and a limited severance calculation if the district terminates without cause.

Jackson introduced her family at the public meeting and district materials filed with the board show the contract includes routine management benefits (medical, dental, vision, life), a district laptop and cell phone, and vacation accruals. The contract also states she must maintain credentials required for the position and will be evaluated annually by the superintendent.

The board authorized the Superintendent or designee to execute the necessary documents. No written opposition or public comment was recorded on this personnel item during the meeting.
