Greene County Legislature adopted a positive declaration for Capital Project 163 and authorized circulation of a draft generic environmental impact statement; an informational open house is scheduled for May 4 at the Casio Community Center.
The Greene County Legislature voted to adopt a positive declaration for Capital Project 163 and to circulate a draft generic environmental impact statement (GEIS) and scoping document, triggering a public comment period and a scheduled informational open house.
James (economic development presenter) told the Legislature the project team concluded a positive declaration is appropriate and outlined the next steps: circulation of the draft scoping document and an informational open house set for May 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Casio Community Center. "We will have an informational open house on May 4... we'll have a presentation of the survey document, and we'll have time for comments afterwards," James said.
Chair called the motion to adopt the positive declaration and to proceed with GEIS scoping and public notice; voice vote results were recorded and the motion carried. The open house will give residents an opportunity to review the draft GEIS scope and offer comments that the Legislature and project staff will incorporate into the next phase.
