Acting as the Iron County Community Development and Renewal Agency on March 23, the commission approved 2025 increment payments for a set of solar Community Reinvestment Areas (CRAs), including Beryl Solar, Buckhorn Solar, Cedar Valley Solar, Iron Springs Solar and others.
Economic Development Director David Johnson told commissioners the listed solar CRAs had met the April 1 deadline requirements and recommended approval. Johnson noted one exception: Building and Zoning Administrator Terry Palmer said Red Hills Renewables was not in compliance with vegetation management requirements, which Johnson said he would follow up on.
Paul Cozzens moved to approve the 2025 Annual Increment Payment for the listed Solar CRAs, subject to verified compliance by Red Hills Renewables. The motion passed unanimously: Michael Bleak, Aye; Paul Cozzens, Aye; Kenneth Robinson, Aye.
The action releases county sign‑offs required for the CRAs' 2025 increment payments; county staff will confirm Red Hills Renewables' vegetation management status and report back if further action is needed.
