Board approves personnel, curriculum and finance measures in unanimous votes

The Edison Township Board of Education approved a series of consent and resolution items during its Dec. 15 meeting, voting to carry motions on personnel, administration/curriculum/pupil services, and finance and facilities.

A motion to approve the personnel agenda was moved and seconded and carried on roll call. Board staff called votes by member name; those recorded as voting "yes" were: Mister Ereko, Mister Lugo, Mister Romano, Miss White, Miss Peng, Vice President Patel and President Xi. The chair declared the motion carried.

A subsequent motion to approve administration, curriculum, instruction and pupil services was similarly moved, seconded and carried on roll call with the same recorded yes responses. Finally, a motion on finance and facilities — which included three cost-service contracts (highlighting the LinkIt software assessment/intervention program), the JAMS parking-lot renovation application to the Department of Education, and acceptance of a Meridian Health grant — was moved and carried after roll-call affirmation.

Motions recorded during the meeting included a motion to go into a closed session earlier in the agenda and later a motion to adjourn; both were put to a vote and carried.

The approvals were procedural and part of the board’s consent agenda; no opposed votes or abstentions were reported in the transcript.
