Staff reported that phase 1 of the district referendum is under active construction, that Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) packages for initial sites will be presented in May, and that phase 2 schematic designs are moving into detailed drawings. The district noted the need for continued community engagement as sites move from schematic to detailed design.
The meeting included a public groundbreaking for a school project; district and community partners praised student involvement and sustainability goals and said the new building is expected to open in August 2027. Facilities staff said costs to date remain primarily architectural and initial spending of about $9.4 million is in design and early procurement, and they will bring updated financials and GMPs back to the board in May.
