Colleagues and community members spoke from the audience and at the dais, offering personal testimonials about Kaiser’s advocacy and leadership in the district.
Christina Ramirez and Jackie Scott, both colleagues at Indian Community School, described Kaiser as ‘‘an incredible advocate’’ and a ‘‘force of nature’’ for students. In remarks to the board Kaiser, who said she is stepping away because of health concerns, reflected on her time in public service and thanked colleagues: "I do love you guys very, very, very much," she said, calling the board relationship ‘‘not an end’’ and noting she would remain engaged as a community member.
The recognition preceded the board’s regular business and was followed by the consent agenda and other items on the published agenda.
The tribute was entered into the minutes and a copy is to be recorded as part of the district’s official record.
