She described partnerships with local nonprofits, the school district and long‑running vendors for golf operations. Council members asked for details about SafeKey enrollment and scholarship availability; Calloway said SafeKey is a fee‑based program with scholarship assistance available and summer averages of 35–40 kids per day.
Councilmembers praised the revenue performance and community reach of Parks & Rec; staff committed to continuing outreach and to ensuring the department's capital plan aligns with the city strategic plan.
