Cathy Park, Director of Assessment and Accountability, presented the Illinois state report card and the district's summative designation at the Nov. 6 West Chicago ESD 33 Board of Education meeting.
Park walked the board through the eight indicators that inform each school’s summative designation and emphasized the difference between growth measures and proficiency. Park said the district’s strategic plan guides action plans tied to those indicators and that staff will continue to monitor student progress and share the report-card information with building staff.
Board members did not take formal action on the designation during the meeting; the presentation was received for review and for incorporation into building and district-level monitoring and planning.
The board will continue district progress monitoring aligned with Strategic Plan Goals 1–5, including student growth and achievement, an equitable learning culture, professional culture, family engagement and use of resources.
