Fernley accepts roads and utilities for 5 Ranch Village 2 subdivision

The Fernley City Council on June 4 adopted Resolution 25‑007 to accept the public roadway, water, sewer and storm-drain infrastructure for the Friendly 5 Ranch Village 2 subdivision.
Alex Lopez Martinez, project manager, presented the engineering department’s notice of completion and displayed a map showing the Village 2 area. He said Village 2 added three new roads — Carson Way, Darcy Lane and Mave Way — and completed previously constructed Eleanor Way and Peyton Way. “NRS278.3390 requires that the local governing body accept the road right away to our city network of roads,” Lopez Martinez said while explaining the state statute that requires municipal acceptance of completed public rights of way.
Council moved and voted 5–0 to adopt the resolution. The action places the new streets and associated utilities under city maintenance and operations going forward.
A council member asked whether street names had a theme; the project manager said the names were chosen after family members of the developer, not Beatles songs.
