The Esmeralda County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 20 approved multiple expenditure batches and cleared previously rejected invoices presented by the auditor.
The county list of expenditures for FY25-26 — General Batches 1 and 2 and Road Batch 1 — totaled $290,523.21 and was approved on a motion from Commissioner Rachel Holt, seconded by Commissioner Mary Jane Zakas. The Fire District expenditures — two batches totaling $858.47 — were approved in the same motion sequence.
Auditor/Recorder Vera Boyer brought several late invoices that had been rejected under Nevada statutes (NRS 244.210, 244.215, 244.250) because they were presented outside the county’s payment timeframe. The board voted unanimously to approve payment of invoices for Dan C. McArthur totaling $105,021.00, Advanced Surveying & Professional Services ($1,357.50), and Pitbull Pest Control ($255.00), specifying the accounts from which each would be paid.
Commissioner Holt moved to accept the December financial reports showing $590,821.29 in reported office totals and related receipts; the motion carried.
The meeting packet included a detailed fund summary and vendor check register for December 2025; staff placed the reports in the minutes as requested by commissioners.
