The Redondo Beach Unified School District board voted to adopt the district’s 2024–25 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) annual update and the 2024–25 budget.
Lisa Veal, Executive Director of Educational Services, explained that local indicators assess priorities without state data using a self‑reflection tool and that districts must upload these results to the California Dashboard by July 31. She told the board that many measures were rated as fully implemented for 2023–24 and highlighted strengths and areas for growth, including parent participation (noting higher response rates than prior years but room to improve community input opportunities).
President Flynn called for a motion to adopt the LCAP update (item 12.1) and the board approved it by voice vote. The board then approved the 2024–25 budget (item 12.2) by voice vote after staff confirmed the budget document had been available for review in the deputy superintendent’s office.
Veal encouraged continued parent participation via the district webpage form and said staff will monitor incoming feedback as they finalize uploads to the state dashboard. The board will receive the public‑facing dashboard materials when the state releases the dashboard (typically in December).
