The Detroit Lakes City Council introduced and administered the oath of office to two newly hired officers, Tristan Knopf and Anthony Hugg. The officers swore to uphold state and federal laws and the ordinances and policies of the Detroit Lakes Police Department.
Following the oath, Public Safety chair Dahlman moved resolutions declaring that each part-time officer meets PERA membership requirements (a statutory retirement/benefits threshold). Both resolutions were seconded and adopted by voice vote.
Council congratulated the officers. The meeting transcript records the oath and the motions and voice votes; it does not provide a recorded roll-call tally.
