"What we can do here to make this more accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities," she said she would discuss with the body at a subsequent meeting.
The comment closed the first block of public testimony during the legislature's monthly meeting. The clerk had called the list of speakers before Mortimer spoke and the chair reminded attendees that each speaker would have three minutes and that legislators would not question speakers during the public comment period.
The public forum ended after additional commenters spoke; the chair announced a short post-forum Audit and Finance Committee meeting before the main legislative session began.
